I heard a story like this a a bunch of years back. The Antlered doe was like a 12 point from ohio if my memory serves me correctly.

About the "swollen neck"...the deer probably was genetically both male and female. Recall that females have two x chromosome while males have X-Y. Crazy stuff happens when people somehow end up with X-X-Y or X-X-X or X-Y-Y. Each "condition" has its own name, which I forget, but in a least one (I believe the X-X-Y) you have a pretty even spread of male and female characteristics...and infertility. Looks like someone's momma found a patch of wild 'shrooms
