Cold morning hunt was well worth it! After a flawless entry into the woods my bud caught this nice doe off-guard! Way to go!!

Yep, got her the 1st min. of legal shooting light. She had come in w/ 6 other doe and I heard them coming at 100+ yds. out since the snow was frozen good. Shot her at about 18 yds. w/ a 12 ga. w/ 00 buck and tried to take another doe but my gun jammed. She fell, then crawled less than 10 ft. It was 17 degrees out when we got her and neither one of us was disapointed that the hunt was over before it even began! Nice hunting Dave - lets do it again sometime.

Congrats on the doe. Quick ?. VA still lets you use 00 buck for deer. In WI it's illegal.

Yes, in Prince William Co. VA,you can use buckshot, but no slugs.

where in VA are yall hunting, I hunt in Albemarle County, and its been real nice this year.

Mostly Prince William Co., but some Fairfax, Loudon, Fauquier, and Orange Co.

Way to go Cool! I live in Lake Ridge and also hunt the local spots. It's been real slow in my honey holes as of late. I am thinking of getting out tomorrow morning or maybe the afternoon. Not sure. Congrats on the doe, she'll eat good.
