Heat..sweat...Skeeters...rattle snakes..coral snakes...moccocins...chiggers ...ticks ...poison oak ... poison ivy......black flies ...no seeums......fire ants....black widows.....brown recluse....and gators!
Then you have to watch for FL cougers and black bears. Both protected byFL law!
Well now my 10 degree snow covered hunt doesn't quite seem so bad anymore..:DActually hunting with snow on the ground is awesome, you seem em easier and it's a helluva lot easier to track. Even the 10 degrees isn't that bad as long as you dress for it, and you get used to it after awhile. I can't imagine walking through the brush and about step on a rattlesnake...*shiver* Call me a nancyboy but no thank you..;)

Actually hunting with snow on the ground is awesome, you seem em easier and it's a helluva lot easier to track. I agree with that. You can see them quite a ways out with a good snowcover. Problem is....they can see you too. I always get a kick out of setting stands up for bowseason that I can barely find in October when bowhunting because they are concealed so good. Come middle of December you can see them from the road a mile away.

I think unzipping my ground blind while it's still dark and getting in it to be greeted by a rattlesnake would absolutely freak me out.

Are they that dangerous though? From what I've seen they can't see 1 foot in front of them. I've also seen that they don't mind charging people either[:-]
