8 point in general. and a 4x4 if you want to be specific.

Here in Nebraska, we call them 4x4's. If we said 8 point, people would think 8 points per side. We hardly ever see that here.

If you can only count to 4 then it's a 4x4, but the smart guys can count all the way to 8.

Just to add to the confusion when describing mulies or blacktails eye guards are not added in the count, so a 4x4 blacktail the deer might actuallycarry 10 scoreable points. This is done for the reason that a large number of blacktails and some mulies dont carry eyeguards.
I am sure this was no help in ridding any confusion.

If you don't want to call it an 8 point shouldn't it be called a 4+4.
