I have a mossberg. However, I don't use my Shotgun during gun season. I use my encore 209-50. I don't have a follow up shot, but I can shoot a lot further and more accurate...

I have an H&R ultra delux. I use an inline ML as well so the single shot doesn't matter to me.

H&R ultra slug hunter 20 gauge. Kinda heavy with the bullbarrel, but the accuracy is excellent.

This is the only one I got, so I use it by default. Remington 1100 (pre-87) 12ga with 28" barrel.

Rem. 1100 with rifled barrel, 3x9xx40 scope. she's mostly a back up gun, but did use it to take one this year already. They drop like lead when hit with a 12 guage.:)

For me....H&R Ultra Slug Deluxe in 12 gauge or occasionally an old JC Higgins 12 gauge pump (smithed to 18-1/2" barrel w/ rifled sights brazed on) in thicker woods/timber.

My oldest boy also shoots an H&R Ultra standard in 20 gauge.

instead of using a shotgun with a slug, why don't you use a slug gun, thats made for slugs. Its more accurate that just a shotgun with slugs. I do know some jackasses that shoot slugs in a shotgun at deer out to 200 yards.

I have 4:
Mossberg 695 bolt action 12 ga. rifled with 3-9x40 Leupold
Smith and Wesson 1000 12 ga smoothbore slug barrel Tasco red dot
Mossberg 835 cantilever rifled 4x fixed Leupold
Ithaca 37 Deerslayer with slug barrel


Both of the Mossbergs willgroup about 1.5-2" at 100 yds. with Rem Copper Solids
Ithaca will group about 3" at 50 yds. with Brennekes (exc for smoothbore)
S&W about 5" groups at 50 yards

Right now i have a Winchester 1300 Black Shadow Speed Pump in 12 gauge. I like semi's but they jam more then pumps. I love my winchester.

A slug gun is a shotgun. There are smooth bore shotguns you can use rifled slugs with or rifled chokes. Then there is a shotgun with a fully rifled barrel. All are shotguns and all are slug guns if you shoot slugs out of them.

i hunt with a mossberg 835, pump, rifled barrel with a Bushnell 3x9 scope. shoot 3' lightfield commanders zeroed at 100 yrds.
