Big coyote

This guys every bit of 85-90 lbs. Missing a bunch of teeth. He came cruising by at about noon gave me a30 yd. shot. This is the first yote I have taken. Are they any good for anything, pelt? He's probably an old timer, missing hair in a few patches, should I consider a mount? I will post some pic's when I get a chance. Thanks for any reply's. NYH

Nice job, that sounds like a MONSTER coyote. How long (nose to tail) was it? What did you shoot it with?

Can't wait to see this pic. Here in Kentucky we have alot of yotes, but haven't seen many this year. Seems like bobcat sightings are on the rise though.

That's a nice one. I would see about getting him mounted, I saw a cool mount of a coyote attacking a rabbit. The only problem is that maybe the hole is too big for the taxidermist to patch up. Maybe not though, start a thread on the taxidermy page and see what they say.

I was getting ready to say...I have a 65 lb dog just about that size so I thought 85-90 lbs was a stretch. Thats a nice yote though. I sure would love to kill me one like that.Congrats.

I shot a nice coyote out of my buddy's tree stand about 4-5 years ago in our Dec. deer season. Beautiful pelt that I had tanned.
Nice male that taxidermist said was about 3-4 years old.
Shoot all them dogs you can.
He was one stinkin SOB though.---Whew!!!

Keep thinning out that population even if the price for the pelt is STILL low. Up here in Alberta weare over run with coyotes so we hunt them hard after big game season. Calling tacticsafter a really cold snow stormproduces amazing results! Nice dawg!
