Got a doe and a fox!!!!!!

Got blown at by 2 different deer before it got light. Had a deer within 30 yds. of my stand but it was too dark to tell what it was but........... at 6:08 am got me a doe and at 7:05 am got me a fox!!!!!!! The fox was standing almost in the same place that the doe was when I shot her. That was my first fox too. It was beautiful!!!! I guess it was a red/gray mix. It was mostly a blackish gray color but did have some red or should I say orange. The doe was 18 yds. away and the fox was 19 yds. Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!

Congrats on the doe. What are your plans for the fox?

Just curious, what do people do with a fox when they kill them? I see them all the time and know there is a season for them. But Don't know why anyone would want to hunt them.

Good question DeerWhisperer,

When I was younger I sometimes killed things just because I could, with no use for the animal.

Now that I'm older (OLD) I only shoot what I am going to eat. Might be a maturity issue or there could be a problem with overpopulation of foxes.

For myself, I just enoy watching them when I have the chance.

You better not shoot a fox in some countys of Md.I shoot them every chance I get, but with a camera.Someone give us one valid reason for shooting a fox. Trapping a fox I understand, it's for the pelt but a pelt is useless with a big bullet or broadhed hole in it. Oh, BTW, congrats on the deer.
