Just wondering if any of you have an inexpensive way of making deer feeders. I have heard alot of people mention useing PVC pipes or 5 gallon buckets, but I would like to see what you are all using. Thanks guys!!

i made a feeder out of pvc and it works really good. have no picture but can tell you how to make it.
all you need is 4 inch pcv pipe.
pvc glue
and a hack saw.
take and cut your pipe 3 ft long and glue a forty five degree elbow on it. then cut you another pie about 1.5 feet and glue that to the elbow. drill some holes in the bottom of it sorain water can drain. Lastly paint it you favorite hunting color , not hunter orange.

I use a 15 gal. barrel. Cut a 3/4" x 10" slot near the bottom. Use a strap and put it on a tree. Fill it up and leave it. Don't cut the slot too big or all your food while come out at once.(I had to learn the hard way.) The deer will bump it and use their tounges to get it out.

You will be money ahead to get a barrel and timer and make a good feeder. Half to two/thirds of your corn or other feed in a self feeder will be pulled out by coons, squirrels, rats, coyotes, and all the birds in the area. If you set your feeder for a few pounds at 3 or so in the afternoon the deer will be more likely to come out before dark to feed.

I have a feeder that I built. You can make it what ever size you want. Mine holds 300 lbs of corn. If interested I can send you some more detailed pictures. Or just tell you how I built it.
