Yes they can breed at 6 months of age, both buck and doe fawns.Thats why the rut can be drawn out and the second rut occurs when they come into heat.

Of course it happens.

The only times it probobly wouldn't happen is when there's a larger/more agressive/dominant/tanding buck around to tell him he can't.

Hope this helps you out. Not all mounting results in a copulation/ conception, sometimes its just an animal being precocious and/or showing dominance. If a fawn buck is approx. 90 lbs he will probably mount does successfully. Thats why a tending adult buck will run the male offspring away from a cycling doe. Also, if a fawn doe is approx. 90 lbs by late December, early January (depending on region and birth date) she will cycle and could conceive. If you saw a button buck repeatedly mount a doe, I doubt he was getting the job done, though. When its done right, youll see it all...tending, prepping, mounting, the thrust, and afterward, the doe holding herself with that arched back while the buck goes off to "tend to himself". After that, she no longer releases the scent (pheromones) that triggers the response from males. By the way, for those who dont like to see buttons breed, guess what? It makes no difference, genetics are genetics. Hes got the same genetics at 6 months as he will at 6 years.
