Got a deer!!!!
 

Got a deer today!:D Shot a nice doe on our east texas lease today at about 10:00 am. She started to bolt and I jerked a little bit, as it was my first shot in about a year.:)On the 180 yd. shot it made a huge difference though and caught her in the back hip.[:@]We trailed her and it was the hardest trail going through countless briars and losing the trail, and having to crawl along following tiny droplets of bloodfew and far between. But after we trailed for about 5hrs. we were giving up and trying to get back to a road. It turns out the trail we chose was hers too and we followed her blood and lost it again at the opening to this big marsh thing! I decided to look along the edge and my Dad and i found her about 30 ft. away from where we came out! We went to the nearby pipline, walked around to our hunting spot to where we started the chase, got the truck and got her taken care of! It was a good ending to a long day.:D

Just goes to show how they will circle back sometimes. Way to keep tracking. Try to get to a range and practicemore often.

Here's some pics. Yeah that was an uncommonly terrible shot for me but it was also my longest to date. We came out on the pipeline and left the deer there while we circled back on the road to get the truck. ;)

I'm not sure how muck she weighs, we don't have a big game scale.
Maybe one of the neighbors has one but got to skin her before she gets to hard.:D
