My wife ate a lot of deer and other game while pregnat. Never had a problem. I take what doctors say with a very large grain of salt. However for those who think that doctors have all the answers, I would not discourage them from folloing docs orders.

i trust the meat that i kill, butcher, and cook myself alot more than some ground beef that i pick up at the local supermarket, that has been pumped full of chemicals from the time the calf was born till the meat was plastic wrapped.

that being said i dont know what chemicals(natural or otherwise) are actually in either meat, so i would talk to the doctor, and maybe get some additional information and opinions about it before making any decisions.

whu don'the just go with her on the next visit and ask him why venison is bad for her.it may be one of those things that people that don't like hunting will say just to not want to get into an arguement.
he may know something about the deer in you area (CWD) or something like that.

Just ask and see.

Well my wife ate it while she was pregnant and the baby turned out just fine. Make sure that you properly prepare after the kill and that you make sure that it is well done and everything should be okay.

My wife and I who are expecting our second child in May went to see our mid-wife, and she recommended eating deer meat.

:Ddon't eat fresh meat with no chemical or additives. sounds like the doctor is making up some of his own game rules now. i know some old country doctors that would get a good laugh out of this.:D:D
