Duc gotta Buck!!!
 

Well I finally got my first buck this morning. It was the first buck I have ever shot at with a rifle. I always seem to wait for a better shot and end up w/ zip, not this morning though. Heres the story.

I found my way to my ground stand this morning and sat in the shadows concealed fromthe moonlight.It finally brokedaylight with the oh so familiar sounds of gunshots.I was using my "can" call and my grunt tube, one or the other, orboth repestively. I grunt around 7:20 three times and just sat and waited. Ten minutes later I hear something coming. I knew it must be a buck. He pops over the hill which was only 25 yrds away and was quartering-in to me. I was waiting for that "perfect" broadside shot when I decided to go ahead and take him since he was 15 yrds and closing. The ole 30-30 let out a boom and there he went. I was worried b/c of the shot I made. It wasfarther back than I wanted and I knew I had got in the paunch. I wait for one hour before tracking. Would have waited longer but I didnt hear him any for an hour and figured I must have shot better than previously thought.I wish I had my bow b/c it was perfect bow range but Im happy either way. There he laid and I was the proudest hunter around.

This was my first buck ever! He has 10 points and weighed 125 pounds. He has 2 kickers that Im not sure if should be counted as points. They are about 1/2 - 3/4 inches long. I saw him last saturday bowhunting but he knew something wasnt right and never gave me a chance. Im so glad I had another chance at such a beautiful animal. I am getting a shoulder mount of him.

The first pic is my dad and me. I was glad I could share my first buck with him.

Awsome buck, and you shot it with my favorite gun. My ten point that I posted on your other post was also shot with a Marlin 336.
