This is very unfortunate to hear but he should be thankful the guy missed. I know I would have absolutely took a dump in my pants. Absolutely inexcusable.

Scary stuff, that's for sure.

That is why I avoid hunting public land at all costs. Lot's of joe-blows out there during gun season, probably still drunk from the night before. And it all came to a head while walking some public land in shotgun only country, running into a couple of guys carring .30-06's.

Give me private land or give me death!!! (Not saying you can't get shot on private land, but I think your chances decrease 99.9%)

If you ever wonder where the anti hunters get there stuff its right here. Have any of you ever heard of trolls .
I don't see this as trolling! And the only BAD stuff that I ever see that the anti's can pick up here, or from any other truehunting groups, is when we condone law breaking, and/or truely unsafe shooting/hunting practices, such as shooting at movement!!There might be a way, or two, to accidently shoot someone! But someone who does not have the discipline to know what they are shooting at, has no business with a gun!
If a person shoots at movement enough times, sooner or later, they are going to shoot something that doesn't need shooting!
If people you know hunt like these idiots you need to turn them in.
I agree with you here!

If all of the facts are correct in this post then I doubt it was someone just shooting cause he saw something move. I think it was probably on private land and he recieved a warning shot.

NO ONE deserves a "warning shot!" Except maybe a burglar, and that one wouldn't be a warning shot!

IMO, This thread sounds alot like what happened in Wisconsin. Luckily only one shot was fired. Your friend should be applauded for not returning fire. Glad to hear he is OK. The situation could have been very bad!!
