Its just a back door way to stop all hunting.
How you ask.
By passing laws tha restract age for hunting it
Opens the door to making other laws that,
Restrict hunting to all hunters regaurdless of age.
So we gotta nip this in the bud.
So go to http://www.NRAILA.org and sign up to fight this.
Thank You

My youngest shot his first buck at the age of 6. Sat right on my lap and did a heck of a job. I do think it is nuts to turn a youngter loose on his own until perhaps 13 but enven then it would need to be in a closely supervised capacity.

I think setting an age limit is utter garbage. I have been hunting since about 9 years old (I'm 27). I always hunted with my dad until I was in high school before he left me by myself to hunt and even then he was in a stand close to me. Considering at sixteen kids have so many other distractions you would lose tremdous amounts of potential hunters. My 13 year old cousin shot at his first deer this weekend and now has the fever. I wouldn't miss that smile on his face for the world. He is now hooked. If he had to wait until 16 I don't know that my uncle would be able to get him in the woods.

Under proper supervision...I think it is absolutely necessary to start out our young hunters at an early age. You can learn more about hunting than some people can learn in a lifetime about ethics, morals, and respect. I think this is complete bogus bull, and if you're a parent, and you feel that your child is ready to hunt,...it's completely up to you. I don't think anything like this would ever pass because it would create a lot of troubles in some of the southern states. In Wisconsin, I know you have to be 12 to hunt, but that's even a little strict....but 16???? There's would be a little too much governmental influence with that equation.
