How to hang an Electronic feeder.
Im thinking tomorrow of picking up a few moltrie feeder kits from bass pro.
So with that being said, how do yall hang them. I cannot bolt or nail anything into the trees. Normally I strech a cable across two trees and lag bolt it up with a winch. But I cant do that at the place Im hunting. If yall can show me how to make a different feeder then I will do that. Oh yeah and tripods are out of the question, BEARS! Thanks Mwke |
RE: How to hang an Electronic feeder.
How big of a feeder is it? If its big enough for legs, get the Moultie leg kit for 20.00. Three 8-10 ft. sections of fencing top-rails make good cheap legs.

Opps, I didn't read your last sentence, no tripods! But there aren't too many other ways of hanging a feeder than the ones that you mentioned!

Yeah I plan on using a good sized limb, but.... how do I get it up the tree?
Maybe ratchet straps? |

Anyone?

Either carry a ladder in the woods or use a climber to chain a pulley on a tree limb. You might have to double the line unless you have a boat winch to pull the barrel up in the tree.

How about, by the neck?

I guess Ill have to use the pulley idea, but 200 lbs up in the air 10 feet! How could I mount a boat winch to a tree without nails?

RE: How to hang an Electronic feeder.
Take a couple of pieces of plate metal, drill a few holes that match up to the back of the winch, bolt one of the plates to the winch, and take some longer bolts and make a clamp that will grab on a 6" or so hardwood tree.
