Rotten Acorns

Well ..I was in the woods the last couple of days here in north Alabama and southern Tennessee and a ton of acorns are on the ground from all the storms and winds from the hurricanes and most are rotten...not much left in the trees... Im guessing for us the hunter thats a good thing because the deer will have to move to find some type of mass food ... whats your opinion ..good or bad thing for the hunter?

Definitely a good thing. We have had a surplus of acorns so far this year. The rain that just went through hopefully knocked most of them down. Admittedly though I have seen the deer focusing more on corn in my neck of the woods.

It could be bad, if there are so many on the ground that the deer don't have to search for that one tree that has lost them. In other words, if the foods right in front of them, they might not move to the edge or where ever it looked like they might be feeding before. On the other hand, if you know where some good bedding is, then they might not move too far from that to feed, narrowing down your choices.
