Bears are said to like the smell of 35mm film. Homemade cams have been housed in old ammo cans to better deter bears than plastic.

maybe the flash pi$$ed him off and he wanted to see what that was and ripped it from the tree...? about all i can think of...i would be mad them things are kinda expensive to loose like that!

Well some good news I talked to the one of the game wardens yesterday and he said i could turn it in on bear damage and the state would pay for it so i am going to do the paper work tomm

I had the same thing happen. I got a friend to make a metal box for it with a hole for the lens.
