Googleearth.com
Is there any trick to clearing up the view when zoomed in on your property ? Is the version you pay for any better ? Anyone know?

RE: Googleearth.com
I found it to be a pain in the butt to navigate that site. I went ahead and paid the $14.95 a year for www.mapcard.com.
They have some site problems today, but it is at least easy to work. |
RE: Googleearth.com
Google earth is a neat toy, and useful for finding directions and such. Some areas just aren't clear when you look at the aerials though. I use a tool that gets aerials and topos from the microsoft terraserver database. Its called USAPhotomaps. You can download it free at www.jdmcox.com. Its very GPS friendly. You need a waypoint to start with and just go from there.

RE: Googleearth.com
after reading this i got google earth, and woohooo is it neat. i cant find my house because i am in one of those blurry green areas. it seems like you have to be close to a big city to see clearly. I did find my camp though, it seems pretty clear there. i found my uncles house, yard, the camp, the layout of the creek. pretty cool stuff. I am impressed on how it shows elevation if you change your angle so you are on the ground looking parralel.
im chekcing out usaphotomaps right now |

Try www.mapmart.com
Click on aerial photo click on begin search. Navigate with the topo map and then click on the aerial link. This is the site that I have been using for years. Better clarity and you can zoom on what you want to zoom on. No set frames like terraserver. |
