Hey guys, I just had an idea.....dont know if i am COMPLETELY off my rocker or not....But what do you think you could use a really strong apple scented candle to mask or lure in deer?? I have smelled some pretty strong apple candles....I wonder what deer would think of them?? Its just a thought, just wondering what you guys think?? Thanks

RE: Candle as Deer Lure??
SUPPOSIDLY, DEER CAN SMELL TWENTY-THREE DIFFERENT THINGS AT ONCE. THAT IS WHY COVER SCENTS DON'T WORK AS GOOD AS PEOPLE WOULD LIKE TO BELEIVE.A CANDLE WITH A STRONG APPLE SCENT MIGHT MAKE A MINORITY OF DEER CURIOUS, BUT MOST WILL PROBABLY BESCARED BY THE PARAFIN SMELL AND OTHER IMPURITIES IN THE CANDLE. IN MY OPINION, YOU MIGHT GET LUCKY, BUT NOT GET THE CONSISTANT RESULTS YOU DESIRE.

Just buy some of the scent sticks. They work.

The candle smell might work, its the singing of Happy birthday to you that might scrare them off. :D

I have seen deer urine scented candles on the market already. You are supposed to put them into a can with two small holes in each side. I used them once but didn't get any positive results. I am not sure about the cover scent idea though.
