I'll have to agree with StrutnBPS this one, sounds like the barrel is heating up and giving you erratic results. Take your time, shoot a series of 2 - 3 shots and then let the barrel cool for a bit. Good Luck!

I have 2- .270wsms (a browning micro hunter,&a savage 116fls ),if black bear is a possibility I like winchesters 150 gr. powerpoints ,if not then I like the federal accubonds 140 gr. I would stay away from the ballistic tips because the .270wsm is too fast, if the deer is close they tend to blow up on bones.
