RE: Are you a bad hunter?
15 years ago, I would have said yes. Very few deer spotted each season and even fewer killed.
But around 10-15 years ago, something started clicking. I started seeing more deer, seeing them before they saw me, and making more killing shots. I started to actually sneak up on deer while still hunting, and have deer bed under my stand while sitting in a tree. My stand site selections started to pay off, and I have noticed other hunters in our group seek out my opinion on hunting locations/tactics now. Now, I pass a lot of animals up, because I am confident that I will see more/better animals later. I also am much more confident in my equipment and my ability to make a good shot. I'm no master hunter, but I feel that I am certainly a decent hunter now days. |
RE: Are you a bad hunter?
I think we all go through that bad hunter phase.I know that at the begining of every season I make lenty of dumb mistakes. But doesnt take long to learn again. So for the first couple of weeks every year I am a bad hunter.Takes time ot get into my groove.

RE: Are you a bad hunter?
Am I a bad hunter? Yep! I'd like to think I'm a better shooter than a hunter. Here in eastern, NC we have sooo many deer that you really don't have to "hunt" for them. Just pick a stand location and wait. About every 10 years I get really lucky;)

RE: Are you a bad hunter?
I'll back your theory up. I'm an excellent hunter with very bad luck.

RE: Are you a bad hunter?
99.99% of the time I'd rather be lucky than good. I have had so much bad luck in the woods one might evan cry over it. :(I am very fortunate that luck happens to change during the course of life. I am just being patient waiting for the turn around.
