Old Rifle

I just looked up the age of my old Remington 700. Turns out it was made in Oct. of 1965. It doesn't look a day over 30.:) Thinking about having a 40th birthday party for it, I just put on a new scope so that will be its present.

Hey timber, check the ring of steel for cracks. Them 60's and 70's were good
rifle's. Glad you have one.

Icedragon the Marlins may be like the Rems.. They have a two or three letter marking on the barrel that you can look up on a website and tell the month and year of manufacture.

Ha -ppy Birth-day to you!

I'm still occaisionally carrying a Swedish Model 94 manufactured in 1899. I use handloads with the pressures kept at moderate levels, cause I use it only in the swamps for close up shots.

my dad has two 22's from the 1800s, no bs. one is from 1846 (octagon bbl, lever action), and an old pull firing pin single shot 'bolt' from 1876. interesting guns. I have a rem model 12 from 1922 and a rem model 760 from about the same time period. the last two were my grand fathers.
