The buck in that first picture is one heavy dude with a pretty nice rack.

Even in Michigan people shoot the first legal buck they see unless there are restrictions like in some areas here.
It seem it is more manly to go into work and say Yes I got a buck than it is to go into work and say I shot a doe.


There seems to be a implied trophy status when shooting a buck even a spike but there isn't for shooting a doe. Most places I know of here don't weigh the does either.

Here's a few heavy PA bucks. I've been seeing some real hogs in the last few years. We started weighing all our deer starting around 2007/2008. My heaviest was 236lbs live. But I've seen and we've shot heavier.

Those deer were from a high-fence ranch in Iowa. I ripped the tags out of their ears before taking the pictures. That's why all my bucks in my pictures have ripped ears.

This guy barely made the 3-point antler restrictions. See his right antler. The 3rd point is just over an inch. The other side only has two points. A cull buck.
