Favorite brand of gun??
I was wanting to knowwhat everyones favorite brand of gun is?Which one do you trust the most and which one has held up the longest & accuracy etc......
|
RE: Favorite brand of gun??
for shotguns i like mossberg, mainly because of the price and the ambidextious thumb safety.
as far as rifles, i'm a big fan of NEF, lightwieght, inexpensive, and they also shoot pretty good. i'd be afraid to hunt with a real expensive pretty looking rifle, i'd probably break it:DI'm full of bad luck. |
RE: Favorite brand of gun??
I'm sort of partial to Savage, but I'm not a real brand loyal kind of guy. I'm a big fan of brownings as well, just can't afford any of them;).
I like the H&R's as well, I wish they had a bit better fit and finnish. But for the price they are nice weapons. Henry and marlin I trust as well. Paul |
RE: Favorite brand of gun??
I think I set a record for using the word "well"?

RE: Favorite brand of gun??
I will only state an opinion on a gun/rifle that I have owned or shot.
My favorite rifle is my Remington 700 .270win. hands down the most accurate out of the box rifle I've ever shot. Recoil is about the same as my .22. And thats one w/o a rubber pad. My favorite shot gun is my Browning BPS 3.5''. (pump) Auto is a toss up b/t my 11-87 and my friend's Franchi. The 11-87 is a very good shooting auto, but the Franchi feels like it was made for my body. My Belgium Browing is also a fine one. Dang. I think they are all my favorites. If not, I wouldn't have them in my safe.;) |
RE: Favorite brand of gun??
No contest....Ruger. My Red Label over/under is devastating on the skeet field, points fast on grouse and when choked right with 6's over my Shorthairdumps pheasants like a sack of rocks. My 77M in -06 has been responsible for a proverbial herd of deer being packed into my freezer. Shots as close as 10 feet out to a measured 326 yards across the alfalfa field (Nosler ballistic tips are a wonderful thing.....). I have dropped it down a slide in the rocks of Wyoming, battered it hauling it up into treestands and bounced it around on way to many kamikaze quad rides - but the damn thing continues to shoot better than any other rifle I have ever owned. When I carry that rifle I know in my heart that ANY deer I see lives only because I make the choice not to harvest it.

RE: Favorite brand of gun??
Gotta show my love for the big green, love those Remingtons.
As far as handguns, i like Ruger and Beretta for shotguns Mosberg gets my vote Dave |
RE: Favorite brand of gun??
Winchester Model 94 30-30 carries like a toy, yet does its job
Winchester Model 70 Classic .300 WSM--so far he likes it. Real good balance, accurate and a great safety system Winchester Model 1200 pump--very reliable Browning Citori Lightning Feather and awesome field gun and has been known to knock some clays 50 year old Beretta Golden Pigeon--this is a very well made and shooting o/u All of these guns are outstanding and are more than what is required....as are most others |
RE: Favorite brand of gun??
Tikka300 win mag, Ruger 10/22, Remington 870 super mag 3 1/2"

RE: Favorite brand of gun??
Alright I'll be the first to say Browning. Love my BPS, especially the ambi safety. I've shot the Gold Hunters before and like those too, but I've never been much of an auto fan. Also shot my dad's A-5 quite a bit but I've never really liked the humbback much.....he loves it, so I think it's personal preference with it. O/U's I can't say enough about (just don't like the price tags on them lol). Love them all except the 12ga. Lightning, and the 12ga Hunter models. Just don't feel comfortable with them. Also don't like the 525's b/c the euor pistol grip doesn't feel comfortable.

RE: Favorite brand of gun??
So got a few for remington. I am looking to buy a new rifle, i am stuck between the browning a-bolt stainless stalker and the remington 700 sps stainless. I just don't know if browning is worth the extra $400 dollars or not. Just like to see everyones opion (can't spell)

RE: Favorite brand of gun??
Browning. They have the best safeties period. They also shoot well and are built solid. I also like Marlin 22's.

RE: Favorite brand of gun??
I love my Remington 700 CDL (30-06). I haven't ever owned a nicer hunting rifle. It shoots well, have never had a jam, and have never had any type of failure. The accuracy is good enough for my shooting, and it looks nice. For the money, I really don't think you can go wrong.

RE: Favorite brand of gun??
