Tanning

I bagged my first of the season today and would like to try my luck at tanning the hide, which I have never done. Can anyone point me towards a good resource...book, website, what have you, that will tell me the steps to follow and the supplies I may need.

Thanks!

RE: Tanning

taxidermy net will give you a lot of help.one word of advice from me is try to use a yearling hide for the first one. the hides are not as thick and you won't have to as much shaving and will have a more supple hide when finished as to a thick old buck or doe hide.just some advice, have fun.
