RE: antler growth
I don't think it works like that. In the winter, the hormones will drop - as well as the nutrition - and they will lose what they have. No deer gets two years of antler growth. They still could be 6-8 points. You'd be surprised what a buck can grow in his first couple of years. My buddy shot a 9-pointer that was 1.5 years old. It was a basket, for sure. He also shot a 150" gross 10-point that was aged at 2.5 (private farm land).

RE: antler growth
Only way I know of that a buck can have continuous growth of their antlers is if they are either castrated or born without testicles. They will have velvet covered large circumference strange looking antlers. I forget the correct terminology used. (I shot one about 25 years ago)
