The 300 Win Mag and 7mm Rem Mag are both very good for the larger animals like elk and carribou, but a bit heavy for white tail. My preference is the 7mm Rem. Mag.

7mm is my choice...shot lots of game with mine and have no complaints...and as far as too big for deer...according to who?
