Legal, your would have to check your state regulations. I know of no states that allow a .22 for deer hunting. Sure it will kill a deer if hit in the right spot, but so will a 66 Ford pickup and I would use neither for deer hunting.

Well, I doubt that it is legal, not sure what state you're wanting to hunt in. The smallest legal caliber that I'm aware of, are the center fire 22 cal. rifles, such as .223, 22-250, and here in Colo. the smallest is the .24 cal. rifles, for big game.

in Fla. it has to be a center fire.that leaves the 22 out.

.22?!?!?!? ok ok.you obviously dont get out much.il be patient.the .22 centerfire rounds are the smallest you can use here in WI.no rimfire.sorry.

In Missouri it is legal to use any centerfire rifle. Which means it is legal to use a 22 hornet, 17 Rem, 218 bee, ect. Is anybody stuid enough, maybe.
