Moving my mineral lick

Last fall I poured a liquid mineral lick near a heavy deer trail. It was used amidietly and now they have eaten a hole the size of a tire in the ground. I'm wondering should I just keep pouring into that hole, or can I pour it in a new spot a few feet over where I have a better view from my stand. What do you all think? Also I am thinking of adding a few more mineral lick spots in the area around other stands or should I just keep with one?

Moving it where you can see better probably won't help; because, they usually don't use minerals much after late summer. I sometimes just pour around the edges of the existing hole.

What time of year would you usually pour a mineral lick like that?

Perhaps you have a better answer, but it's too secret to share?

Just a little input here. I found that minerals when applied to stumps and downed trees serve all the animals for years. First they eat on the mineral soaked rotten wood and as time passes the nutrients are washed into the ground. I always renew every winter for use when it gets warm but it is not necessary because they will keep digging the spot till all is gone. Deer density is the key to how far apart the licks should be. In the deep south states you should have a lick every 1/4 mile or so.
