I hunt a little squirrel, rabbit and quail in the off season. Its a great time to take the kids out and do some scouting and some hunting.

I hunt pheasant, quail, and dove out of deer season. I don't have any dogs, but I borrow a good pair of dogs from a friend or he comes with me. I hunt coons, my dad and I have a pair of treeing walker hounds. I hunt rabbits, squirrels, bobcats, prairie dogs, pigeons, and coyotes during sometimes but mostly before and after deer season. I also fish a lot for catfish and largemouth bass.

Years ago I used to hunt rabbits with beagles , and it was a blast. Unfortunately it's hard to find rabbits in the woods now , they all live in town. I could easily kill a dozen rabbits a night with a pellet gun in my back yard if I wanted to. Forget about growing a garden in town , unless you want to feed the bunnies.
Anyone else have this problem?

I am the only rabbit hunter on some land that I have access to and I haven't hunted them since last year. And when rabbits breed, they breed. LOL. I went down there just to mess around a few weekends ago and saw many rabbits. So, I may be hunting a few of them sometime. But, i just kick one up or spot and stalk them. I use open sights and just have to get close enough for an ethical shot, then take one and go eat it. I dont shoot over 2 or 3 at a time, just cause I dont eat that much meat and dont want to waste it.
