neoprene slings... love 'em or hate 'em?

I have never owned a neoprene sling, but everyone I talk to say their the way to go. How about you all? I seems to me like the rifle would bounce a lot on your shoulder, which could get somewhat annoying. Anyone have any pros or cons either way?

The only advantage that I've seen with a neoprene is that it doesn't slip off your shoulder like leather or nylon .

I bought a neoprene sling for my rifle to test it out, it only lasted one day in the field before I took it off and went back to my trusty leather sling. I didn't like the feel (how it stretched) on my shoulder, I kept thinking the gun was going to slip off (even though it did grip better than my leather sling). I like the feel of the gun tight against my back when I'm walking, and in my opinion, the neoprene didn't offer that (at least in the sling that I was trying).

I only use neoprene slings now. They stay on your shoulder better and the give in them actually makes the rifle seem lighter.

I had a leather sling on my rifle for over 30 years. A couple of years ago I bought one of the good nylon slings with a rubberized coating. Wish I had of got one 30 years ago. More comfortable and the rifle will stay on your shoulder better.

Neoprene is all I will put on my hunting rifles.

I don't like them, tried one and it kept hanging up when I went to shoulder the gun. They're too sticky.

Don't slide, more comfortable, give when walking and make the rifle feel lighter...yeah I agree Leather is a much better option!

I like the neoprene for all the reasons given already. I also like wrapping the sling around my wrist if I have to take a free-hand shot. It helps to steady the gun. The only thing that I don't like is that it's harder to get the gun off the shoulder.

I've been using a neoprene sling the last couple of seasons. I like it much better than my old leather ones. It stays put, I don't have to constantly make sure its not about to slide off of my shoulder. Also, it doesn't dig in like my old leather sling. Some people say your gun bounces too much with one, but I don't think so. One thing I've been meaning to try though, is the Claw sling. I hear they are great, don't slip at all. I just wonder if they are as comfortable as the neoprene ones. Anybody ever try one?
