Well, another way to find sheds I guess.
We planted 18 acres total of food plots on our land in iowa this year, including 13 acres of Round-Up Ready corn and beans. We sprayed them saturday, but got rained out. So my dad went back the next day, perfect weather, was going to finish in an hour or two. he got about 300 yards and THUNK!, he hit something. Gets off the tractor, goes to inspect the front tire, and lo and behold, heres half an 8 point rack, barely bigger than a basket, stuck on his tire. so he pops it off only to find the G-2 had went in 3 inches and shredded his tire. Needless to say, he wasnt happy to find a shed like that. we finally got it fiinished tonite, saw a couple small bucks and a doe, no monsters that wanted to come where i could bino them.

Know a framer friend who just went out at start of may to do feild work on his brand new tractor. he didn't even make one complete pass in the feild and POP went his tire.
KINDA RUB IT IN TO HIM as he wont let any one shed hunt his properties
That'll teach him............lol
I could have saved him a few hundred buck.

I discovered a 4 point shed while bailing the hay when I heard a loud snap under my back tractor tire. Fortunately, I broke the shed and it did not pentrate into my tire. After looking at it, I discover that I had more then one close call with that particular shed. I must have cut the tips off of it while I was cutting the hay. It could have messed up several sections on my haybine as well as pentrated my tire. And to think that I must have walked 5 miles in March and April without finding a single shed.

A friend of mine was out brush-hogging a field last weekend and ended up "finding" a really nice 5-pt. shed stuck in his tractor tire. Man...I have to walk my butt off in the spring to find sheds....
