Default deer eating tomatoes?

Does anyone know if deer will destroy a tomato farm like they will a soybean field? I have seen tracks around the farm but no sign of them eating off of the actual plant, yet. Will they just eat the leaves, fruit, or both? Thanks.

A friend of mine who farms in Greene County in New York told me that he had a 500' long row of plum tomatoes a few years ago, and he didn't harvest a single tomato that year, because the local deer got every one of them. He used to flush them out of the row in the early mornings.

Not many things in a garden or field that a deer will not eat. They have a very varied appetite.

JUST CUT UP ABOUT 5 BARS OF IRISH SPRING SOAP AND SPREAD IT OUT IN THE GARDEN ...WHEN IT RAINS AND THEY MELT INTO THE GROUND IT WILL KEEP OUT THE DEER .. THEY RELATE IT TO HUMANS ... WORKS WELL FOR US ..

They will if there hungary enough. My experience is they eat my pepper plants and leave the tomatos alone. This year I'm plating habanero peppers so I get the last laugh.
