winter food plots

Default winter food plots

ive planted a few winter food plots with turnips . has any body had any good luck or bad luck with them . they are the first winter plots ive done so any advice would be great or does anybody have any advice for a better plot

I planted turnips and rape this year. We will see. Hoping keeps them around so I dont have to go so far to find their sheds this year!!

Ryan,
read up on the cereal grains section of the link under this. It is easy and not going to break your bank.
I see some guys who's deer take a year or two to start eating turnips an other root winter forage, but others go nuts the first winter. Most all have to get a goo hard freeze for the sugars to start to sweeten first.
