Cold temps and videocameras

How well do videocameras do in below freezing temps?

I just got an HV20, filmed some turkey hunts this year and am looking forward to deer season. I definately want to have it with me no matter what the temps get down to.

Cold and snow don't seem to bother the hunting shoes you see on tv.

I think my owners manual says not to have it in below freezing temps for more than 20 minutes. As much as i should heed those warnings, i probably wont.

Ours did fine the last three years, but it is only really cold when we get back to Michigan and I have filmed with it at -15 but that is wind chill also.. Walt
