It's just too bad that there are not smarter people ( i.e. real hunters!) in the right positions in the MI Dnr instead they either hire people w/papers or kiss a@# that don't know the diff. between walley or a lg.mouth bass!

The DNR website states that there is an "immediate ban on all baiting and feeding of deer and elk in the Lower Peninsula". The means no feeders. I got a feeder up north just for them to come and get some extra food. Goin up there friday to take it down. Is this really fair for the people that just like to view them? My grandparents have 4 does come in everyday and eat some apples and corn they put out so they can watch them. What is it hurting if we put out small quanities where they can grab a bite to eat and be on they're way?

Wow! I just heard of this yesterday due to me being in Ireland! Be interesting to see how this all plays out!

sounds like a good idea , make people hunt .we have never even had that option , we cant even have mineral sites here in il. i wish we could have the mineral sites just for taking trial pics but not for hunting

Unfortunately, it is only illegal to bait, but not to sell bait. Every gas station and podunk sport shop has piles of bait out in front of them for sale and it is selling! I am not sure a whole lot has changed since the baiting ban in many areas???

It's crazy how prominent the displays are at these places. I drive on 20 and 46 during the school week and every station has it out. Only thing that has really changed is the advertising. "Not to be used as deer bait", yeah right. Long way to go!
