Shed Hunting Tips in the snow
Hey Todd, I was going to look for sheds tomorrow but we are at a level 2 snow emergency here in Ohio and we’re expected to get between 12-15 inches of snow by midnight on Saturday. What would be your technique or tips for finding some sheds? He He!

RE: Shed Hunting Tips in the snow
Wait until it melts. lol
We have about 3 feet of snow here and I have been sticking to the main runways since its easier to walk and I have found two horns. Im going to wait to check the bedding areas until the snow is mostly gone so I get it chacked well in one day so the deer don't get spooked too bad when I tromp around in there. Good luck to you |
RE: Shed Hunting Tips in the snow
The key is you take a portable torch and melt the snow so you can find the sheds underneath. You can also use the torch to warm you when your cold.. lol.. I have to wait until it melts also.. We have about 8 in on the ground. After it melts the lower lying areas will be flooded so I'll have to stick to the higher areas until it recedes.

RE: Shed Hunting Tips in the snow
Well, we are now at a level3 Snow Emergency here in central Ohio. That means only emergency vehicles are allowed to be on the roads and I can get arrested for driving on local roads. Woo Hoo!!! Hopefully my Toyota Tundra 4X4 wont get noticed on my way back home. Welcome to the blizzard of 2008. Is spring here yet???
