Seasons End..
Well Boys Rippy and I just returned from Illinois. We took the season right down to the final day to no avail. We sawa bunch of does and some small bucks just nothing close enough. The late season is definitly a tough hunt not to mention the fact that we hunt public. We pounded ground between hunts for sheds. Rippy did find one year old knarly little eight side but that was it. The one time I didn't carry my bow while scouting/shed hunting Rippy was walking a creek bottom and I was on top in a cut corn feild andhe kick up a songdog right to me. It was crazy the thing jumped out to the feild edge less than 10 yrds of me, stood there for at least 10 sec. looking back at Rip and never saw me then just slowly trotted across the feild never knowing I was standing there. I'm still kicking my self in the a** for that one, you could'nt ask for a easier shot. Oh well we had a blast and found some good spots for next year.

RE: Seasons End..
Don't worry... When I come up there in Feb I'll bring my tags and we can make a large pot of tag soup. I shot my only deer this year on the last day of hunting season, SMALL doe. The deer was so young it still had milk running down its chin.
