Is anyone else worthless?
Ok, this weather has officially gotten me freakin' excited to go hunting! The cold snap has really gotten my mind drifting into the world of the whitetail bowhunter again, and I'm actually planning on filming my first hunt of the year this weekend at the Nevars! I can't wait to get back in the field!

Todd, I will agree it is difficult to concentrate on anything but the upcoming season, and this weather could not have been timed any better! Just like we ordered. Who are you staying with this weekend? We might just run into eachother, especially ifsomeone manages to put some bone on the ground.Let the games begin. Jesse

Whether it's 80 inches or 200 - Ed Nevar is going to be shooting a buck this weekend! I am staying with Andy I think???? Not sure, we'll wing it!

Todd i feel your pain :DWe are getting the same weather as you are right now. I went for a ride on the quad today, and had to put on a longsleeve shirt to break the chill, i love it :)Not to mention they are picking corn very early around here due to the drought, that gets me pumped as well!

Yah im definitely gettin really excited had a few really cool days with frost. The elk and moose are startin to rut which means deer arent far behind. Have seen lots of monsters already, all i do is think about when im able to get out next and what im gunna do.

Yep went into work and changed around some vacation time just so I can have off the first 10 days of season in Illinois!! Walt

Not anymore worthless than usual. I spent the weekend out at a public hunting area and never once looked for deer. (tho' I did see some)
Todd Graf called me on Sat.and his deer enthusiasm did rub off on me a bit.(to call Todd enthusiastic isquite the understatement) So,I actually looked at the acorns, the hunting area map but mostly we spent our time shooting fish. Saturdaynight's haul. (Note that the lake did give up a bit of funky deer antler.)  psst.. I hear carp slime is an excellent cover scent. [8D] Come November I'll be all about deer. |

48 degrees right now in SE Iowa baby! Tyler is on his way down and we're heading out to hunt. We can't wait any longer! he he he... Just kidding of-course!
