Good stuff, WKP
Just letting Todd and all the staff know, that i enjoyed the dvdvery much. Its a breath of fresh air seeing a hunting show that representsall the hard work that goes into our sport and how frustrating it can be day after day when things are not happening with the deer. My respect goes out to all of you for your hard work and my viewing enjoyment. It even motivated me to work at it a little harder with my hunting.Thank you!!

Thanks very much for the kind words. As I'm sure you can tell by the video, we are just regular dudes who happen to have it bad for whitetails! You know the work that goes in, we just tried to show as much of it as possible!
Can't wait till fall, we're starting to see some good bucks already and I'm starting that itch that usually results in me not spending so much business time, and more in-the-field time! Part of the job - the part I love! Thanks again and stay involved in our forum! We're happy to have you! WKP - Todd |

Received the DVD a couple weeks ago and finally had the chance to watch it with my son. Lately he seems to not care about hunting/wildlife videos but I started watching this one and he watched too and enjoyed it very much. I really liked the way you guys showed the hard work it takes before and after the harvest. My son did too as I explained to him what it actually takes to go hunting while watching the DVD. Loved the shed hunting part too.
Thanks for a great real hunting DVD.;) |
RE: Good stuff, WKP
Thanks for the kind words Hunter Mag!! That is why we decided to make a video, we were just tired of video's that showed guys climbing a tree and killing a 125-150 class 20 times in the video. We all know it doesn't work like that so we wanted to show what everyday joe's go through to hunt big deer. And that it always doesn't work out.. If you like the shed footage from last year wait till you see this years!!!! Walt

Really enjoyed the video guys. Only watched it once so far so pardon my memory.
Watching you pass that beautiful buck was crazy Todd. That was an intense and long encounter. It's funny, when they start staring at me like that, it is usually my a#$. Must be the predator camo. ;) I'm sure many people can identify with a frustrating season. I had one last year on a much more minor scale. I'll be rooting for you this season. I also like how Walt got his buck on the last (or close to) last day and you could see the desperation that we sometimes get as the season is coming to a close. It also shows all the hard work you put into it and how you guys aggressively chase the deer. Also enjoyed all the extra footage, like the young buck working over that rub, and the little things like leaving your lane trimmings where they fall (always piled them up). Keep it up. I look forward to next years video. |

Thanks very much LebeauHunter! Greatly appreciate the comments....
In-regard to the buck I passed - yeah I hear you! Only a few years ago I would have given my....... well, you get the picture. It's amazing what seeing some HUGE deer can do to you're opinions of what you may or may-not "enjoy" shooting. Like the late season muzzleloader hunt when I film my good buddy Andy Nevar passing that beautiful 3-1/2 year old 140 class. Yeah - we could have had the kill - but as we pointed out - sometimes you just have to eat a tag to really appreciate the moment when it does all come-together (regardless of how many years that may be). I've eaten a tag in Illinois the last 3 years, and don't regret passing any of the dozens and dozens of P&Y animals I could have killed because for me, I enjoyed passing them more than I would have shooting them. Hopefully the karma gods will be shining on me this year in Illinois in my 4 year running waiting for a big mature buck! Maybe this will be the year - regardless I know I will enjoy the hunt! |
RE: Good stuff, WKP
Those are somewise words Todd...and I hope the gods are with me also in Illinois. The hard part for me is that any buck will most likely be bigger than any bucks I see. (wish me luck).

RE: Good stuff, WKP
Spoiler did you get that tag???? Walt

RE: Good stuff, WKP
Todd,
Yeah, it's all relative based on experience, desire, and the area hunted. I have a lot less experience (especially bowhunting) and I hunt in Louisiana. That buck you passed would be the king of the woods where I hunt. :D That took a lot of maturity, patience and respect for your quarry by both you and Andy Nevar. Looking forward to next year's video. I guess you guys have already finished shed hunting and are working on the scouting portion. Again, good luck. |
RE: Good stuff, WKP
I'm in velvent hunting madness right now! Wait until you see some of the footage we have already taken - some pretty impressive bucks! Can't wait fo you guys to see it next season!
