Thanks guys! Tomorrow is the big day. I have to be to the hospital at 11:45 for a 2:15 surgery. What Im having done is called a Sigmoid Collectomy. Basically Im getting a chunk of colon cut out of me. Sounds like fun. So I just started my prep about 2 hours ago and well, let just say its hard to finish this post in one sitting. hehehehe....... LAVA is what comes to mind right now. Anyways thanks for the prayers and concern and Ill have Wally or Aaron post an update for me as Ill be in LALA Land tomorrow about this time. Ive already been told Im getting an IV button with Dilaudid(great pain killer). Ill be back home after 3 or 4 days if all goes well. See ya later guys.

Best of luck. stepdad just had his entire colon out, they rebuilt one out of his large intestine 6months later the reversal surgery took place 2 months post reversal he says you'd never know. Amazing what we can do to the human body again I wish you smooth sailing my friend and you are right that dilaudid is almost too good ;)

Deer hunting and video and all that crap consumes me, but I have to know that Jay is ok, so please let me know what is going on ok? Jay - Please have Aaron or yourself call me with an update ok?

Ill do that. Im leaving in about 10 minutes for the hospital and Im scared as heck!!!!!! Got lots of butterflies in the stomach.

Well just got back from the hospital Jays surgery went well it took longer
than they thought about three and ahalf hours. They were going to do it
with a scope of some kind but they were unable to,so they had to do it
surgically. Theytook aboutnine inchs of his colan out and reattached it so it looks like he wont have to have a bag witch will be a big releif to him when he comes out of it.To say the lest he was very druged up.Ill keep you guys posted.

Well Jay called me about 10:00 am this morning and said he is pretty sore, He said they are pumping the morfin to him and they had him up and walking around already today.. He wants me to thank everyone for caring so much he said it just feels great knowing everyone cares.. Walt

Well they may let jay go home sunday. Hes making some good progress.
he walked around the nurses station 10 times yesterday witch they were
pretty impressed with the way it was going for him. Hes going to start to eat soft foods today to see how he feels.Hes is still sore and lost alot of his strength in his stomach. But cant wait to get home.

Well Im home and doin fine. Surgery was alittle longer than expected with a 4 hour surgery when they thought it would only be a 2 hour but I came out better in the end with the more extensive operation since they were able to get at it better and seal me up better. The healing will be a bit longer as the incision was alittle bigger but all in all Im feeling good.

Thanks for all the prayers and support and Ill be up and about in a few weeks. For now the Dr. has ordered me to lay low and watch hunting DVDs, soft pillows, cold tea, and Vicodin. Sounds good to me. hehehe....
