Who has seen the new Proclamation.
How many of you have the 2005 New Mexico Proclamation?
Perticularly the Elk section. If you draw out for the Bow hunts in any of the #16 sections. You can only kill a bull that has at least 5 points on one side. Looks like NM is trying to compete with Arizona on record book trophy's.;) I think it is good in a way, becouse this system does work. But it does make season a little harder as far as filling a tag. Just thought I would see what everyone that hunts NM thinks of this. Thanks hunter338 |

This is a great step in the right direction-i read the proclamation as I am on the border between the two states.

RE: Who has seen the new Proclamation.
I agree they did some good things but there are some bad things too.
1) No open season deer? What the heck i grew up in NM and that was what we prided ourselves on. 2) Unit 2 deer has been split from 2a and 2b now its 2a 2b 2c which takes away from those that hunted in the southern portion of 2b (Largo) which is now 2c and is a quality hunt with very few permits. |
