still prefer my whisperlite LOL....take the back up stove for rafting trips. 2 stoves 2 pumps. (btw the only problems I have had with mine are the pumps. So far I have broken 2 of them...both were replaced without question!, the other is learning how to clean them so they run efficently like when I bought them).

Alcohol stoves used to be a big thing about 25 years ago... altitude and extreme cold get to them though. See what the recommend these days for priming them. Used to have to heat the burner up with a burning psate to make them work right.
