Turkey Hunting

I have been living/hunting in Boise, Idaho for the last five years and have been successful in taking Deer, waterfowl and upland game. This year however I am going to try turkey hunting. Can anyone suggest a region that holds a sizable population of birds that I can scout out. Also, any tips that you can provide that would help me harvest a bird would be appreciated.
Thanks

Glad you joined us. One thing you will learn to appreciate is the advice, solicited and unsolicited. It is great fun!:) By the way, take Mr. N's advice.
