bad news
Well boys this year I will have to read your posts for my hunting. I was unloading hay this morning and I am the proud owner of a white cast for the next 3 to 5 mounths. If any body hunts the Minam unit in Oregon let me know please. I was going to hunt the Two Coler area and north into the Eagle Cap around Echo Lake. Keep me Addvised. Ceder

RE: bad news
Man, sorry to hear that. It almost makes you not want to do anything remotely dangerous right before the season, just as added insurance. I guess you wouldn't think of unloading hay as dangerous, until now. If you don't mind my asking, what did you break that would require casting for 3-5 months? Sorry, it's the Athletic Trainer and now PA student in me that is wondering. Hopefully, you can live vicariously through our outings.

RE: bad news
I broke my arm in 4 places the rist in 2, 4 bones in the hand and a lot of tindon and ligament damage that will be fixed later. All this from a fall from 8 feet and a bounce off the tail gate of the pick up. I told the wife that she and the daughter better ride the horses to the ground for the price I am paying for this years hay. Like I say to my fire fighter brothers stay low be safe and nothing will get you.good luck to all tolk to you later. Ceder

RE: bad news
Wow, that's pretty extensive. It's amazing in one instance how much the body can take, then in other instances how little it takes to do lots of damage. Make sure you follow the Orthopod's instructions. I don't know your age, but just realize that as we get older our bodies take a little more TLC to get back to 100%. Keep us posted on your progress, and good luck.

RE: bad news
Cedar
A rancher down the river from me fell off a semi load of hay and messed up/broke both his shoulders. He was in cast that held his arms straight out. Also had those little boxes under both his arms to make sure he didn't have any movement. He couldn't do anything for himself. His wife had to feed him, dress him, etc. Just think about going to the bathroom!!!! Hope you get better soon. |
