Sign of an early Fall?

The Pine Squirrels over here are already getting very vocal and are already knocking down pine cones for storage for winter food. This is almost a month earlier than usual for these behaviors. Sign of an early Fall?

BTW, for those of you coming to the Eastside to hunt, it's HOT and DRY over here. [:@]

Talking to my Dad tonight, he said all the fall flowers are blooming up around Eatonville?
Hey I rifle for Deer so an early fall means an early rut:D[8D] Last time I got to hunt an early rut I bagged a 5X3 that scored 103 B/C[8D]:D Blacktail that is...

Odd you should say that, because some one was commenting at work the other night that they are seeing birds flocking up like they're ready to go south.

RE: Sign of an early Fall?

We are seeing signs of an early Fall, but then we have had record, prolonged hot weather here in Southeast Alaska this year. Our fireweed is just about done blooming (almost a full month early), we have large flocks of puddle ducks in the area (something you usually don't notice until September), the silvers are running stronger than normal (and seem to be earlier than usual). People are telling me that their hummingbirds have already left the feeders and the area. I'm hoping it just means it will be a longer Summer and Fall, but only time will tell. ;)

Well in Utah, summer hasn't seemed to have started yet! It is only 95 and it is raining every week at least once or twice! It is more like may here than anything else!
