How did the Shooter fix go?

I heard two Toms gobble this morning across from the house.

Hey Doc....Thank's for asking..:)...He's doing great now...Brought him home from the vet about 11:00a.m. yesterday. He really was a sore puppy untill about noon today. He did'nt want to lay down to rest cus it hurt to much just to sit.....so I'd have to pick him up and lay him down myself....but now....he seem's like his ol' self. How was the trainning today..??

It was probably one of the best we've ever had. Did land work, including marks, quartering and steady to flush, and trailing. Also quite a bit of water work (finally), with difficulty ranging from really easy to extremely difficult. I brought the "Big Bird" again and we only used it on water. Sure made it easier for Larry's dog to make the retrieve. Hunter was able to bring it part way up on shore - not bad when you consider that he isn't much bigger than the bird ;)
