turkey hunting
 

I live in Shasta county CA and I am looking for a place to hunt turkeys on public land. Can anyone help with some info? Thanks

I have never hunted around there, but I would start with the biologists in the area. I have had good success obtaining information this way on new areas. Area sporting good stores might point you in the right direction. Although if they are like most you won't get the hotspots, but it may get you started. Good luck in your search.[8D]

If i were you, i would get out a little early and do some pre season scouting, look for tracks, droppings, turkeys in the trees, this should get you started, you could follow elkcrazy8s information but seems to me like he knows a little more about elk hunting than turkey, going by his name that is, you might check with the locals, but they tend to keep the hot spots to thierselves...
