Help with Non-resident hunting in Montana.

I am planning a trip out to Montana next year for antelope hunting. I was wondering if anyone can give me information on when I have to apply for a non-resident firearms tag. Thanks for the help-Sam

If your looking to apply for a non resident tag, you'll have to get your application in around March. Here is their website for more info.

antelope? Suggest going to wyoming to go hunting, theres no antelope here or deer or elk, they went down there. ;)

Anybody know anything about getting tags guaranteed if you have permission from the land owner?

thenuge15 There is no such thing as a "guaranteed land owner tag." You do have better odds of drawing a antelope tag if you apply for the land owner tag.
I would also agree with 121553. You will have better odds of drawing a tag & shooting a good antelope in Wyoming. Wyoming applications are due in January I think?

Good luck,

Yeah I agree. I used to live in North Montana (in Great Falls) and it was really nice out there. I had to wait 6 months before i could buy a resident hunting lic. If i recall its something like $150 for a non-resident. Dont remember how much for tags though. I was going to give you the site but reeds already did. Good luck and take lots of pictures. MT is one of the prettiest states we have. At least i think anyway.

I think antelope has to be in by jun 15th (I just looked it up cause im applying also for antelope) and I dont think land owner tag helps you out for antelope, just for deer, Your odds are quit a bit better for land owner tags for applying for deer.

Heres what it says for non-resident for antelope
Antelope Licenses limited to specific districts. Deadline to apply is June 2. $203 available at FWP Helena HQ only
issued through special drawings
includes non-refundable fee
