Default Anyone from the Sheridan/Buffalo WY area?

My wife and I are in the process of buying a home in Big Horn, we close Aug 1st. The plan is to retire there in the next 3-5 years. Wondering if there is anyone on this site that lives in the area?

I plan on being out there sometime early September to start setting up the house. I won’t be hunting this year but hopefully will be able to scout a bit and find some access points to BLM and NF. I plan on stopping at the WY G&F office to see if they can tell me access points.

Anyways if there is anyone in the area hit me up with a PM. Would appreciate any helpful info. Not just hunting related, but where to grocery shop, good restaurants, outdoor shops, where do you target shoot, anything really.

Thanks, Rob

Wish I could help but I don't know that area. Pretty looking country though. Are you still keeping your other property?

CalHnter, yes we are keeping our Colorado land where we hunt. It’s good to have options!

I'm surprised nobody has responded yet. It's too bad Topgun3006 is no longer with us as I believe he knew a bit about that part of Wyoming from all of his hunting trips. IIRC, I believe he had a buddy that lived in the area. anyway, I wish you the best for this retirement location. Enjoy all of the hunting.

Wife and I moved to Buffalo in March, so we are here, but don't know much about area yet. Sheridan is a bit north, about 40 minutes by car. I know there's BLM up there due to having OnX, there are "chunks" of it along Rt 90 as you drive from Buffalo to Sheridan, even full of antelope!

It has been fun exploring, but we focus mostly down here.

I have seen pics of Rob's new place. Really a beautiful property. It looks like a great place to live.

Now that's a beautiful spot! Being that close to the Bighorn NF should provide lots of opportunities to get out and enjoy it too.
